Owing to the generally good stocks of blood in the blood banks RKB had a moderate month in terms of number of blood donation drives. However, as and when the blood banks called in for a camp, we were able to cater to the need.

A total of 204 units were collected in 6 camps making the total for the year 7300 units.

Gillete, in a recent initiative, located citizens from nook and corners of India, who have done simple but inspiring work. They presented the Blade Of Honour award to citizen soldiers who have contributed to the society with their soldierly values.

Even as Sankalp's Disaster Management and Mitigation Wing worked through the highs and lows of the disaster prone Sikkim, Sankalp's Blood Donation Wing scaled new heights this September with Rakta Kranti and Disha achieving new personal landmarks. Here is a snapshot of Sankalp BDO for Sep 2011

Rakta Kranti:

Sankalp celebrated completing 8 years since its inception on 23rd May 2003. With all rigor, the Volunteers started the preparations weeks before the Anniversary function. This year, the function for all the well-wishers and Sankalp friends was held on 21sy May in the seminar hall of M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, from 2pm to 4pm. The program that began with the singing of Vande Mataram was packed with cultural events including song and dance and also a rich set of presentations and talks highlighting Sankalp's journey over the last year.

On the second of April as the nation rejoiced the triumph of the Indian cricket team at the biggest stage in cricket, volunteers of Sankalp had another reason to celebrate. Sankalp India Foundation had a few hours earlier won the Spirit of Humanity Awards 2011 for being one of the committed NGOs working in the healthcare sector.

Disha

The call centre equipment has been booked and the software for the equipment is being developed. The entire equipment is aimed to offer better Quality of Services for all the callers. The equipment is expected to be functional from middle of February.

30 Nov: 10th ITPL blood donation drive successfully completed with more than 600 donors turning up for registrations and a total of 488 donors donating blood to St Johns Blood bank, Rashtrothana Blood Bank, RL Jalappa Blood Bank and Nimhans Blood Bank. Kudos to the entire team @ ITPL. This event marks a new era in blood donation drives @ ITPL.
