GANSID 2026: Learning to Reach More Families

Could screening help a family sooner? Could closer follow-up improve someone’s treatment? These are questions we carry from our everyday work into conversations with fellow professionals.

At GANSID 2026, held in Hyderabad from 23–25 October, Dr. Vidhi Mayur and Dr. Tejashree Sridhar from Sankalp shared our work through four presentations. Dr. Vidhi discussed transplantation and technology-supported sickle cell care. Dr. Tejashree explored screening during pregnancy and conditions missed when testing focuses only on sickle cell disease. Every gap we understand better is an opportunity to help a family receive the care they need.
