As we crossed the milestone of 50,000 units of blood collected in our blood donation drives, it's the occasion of celebration of the spirit of voluntary blood donation.
We would like to thank and congratulate all the organisations who trusted us and supported us by regularly organising blood donation drives.
On World Blood Donor’s Day, Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, Bangalore Medical College felicitated Sankalp India Foundation for organizing regular voluntary blood donation drives . We have committed to the department on behalf of all the voluntary blood donors that there will be no shortage of blood.
The last edition of the Patrika laid the prelude to understanding and handling adverse events in outdoor voluntary blood donation drives. Like mentioned last time, Sankalp India Foundation has designed a protocol for handling such events. In this edition of the Patrika, we shall focus on identification of Adverse events in blood donation drives. A problem well stated is like a problem half solved.
Although blood donation is a safe and well established procedure, certain blood donors face an adverse reaction either during or post donation. The severity of such reactions varies from person to person. However, a general pattern of the nature can be drawn. Such reactions may discourage these donors from donating again.
Second blood donation camp at CGI Electronic City, Bangalore by Sankalp is being conducted on 4th December from 9:30 am to 9 pm. There was a huge response from the donors in the previous camp at CGI. Hope the life savors come with same enthusiasm this time.
